Emu oil contains for more than 70% of unsaturated fatty acids, of which
20% essential fatty acids. The remarkable aspect of emu oil is the ratio
between the saturated, unsaturated and essential fatty acids which
matches closely the ratio of the fatty acids in the human skin.
Emu oil is a triglyceride. It contains amongst others of the essential
fatty acids - omega 3 and 6 - also known as linoleic and alpha-linoleic
and the so-called unsaponifiable fractions. This is a complex mixture of
amongst other different flavonoids, which the emu's gain from their
nutrition. The combination of the triglycerides and the presence of
specific flavonoids makes emu oil a remarkable oil with healing
properties. |

EmuCare skin care products are natural
products on a basis of emu oil. We have been producing these products
since 1998.
The origin of emu oil comes from the aboriginals in Australia.
Thousands of years ago they have discovered that the emu oil has a
wholesome effect on curing wounds and treating painful joints.
The particular about emu oil is that it has a wealth
of essential fatty acids (omega-3 and omega-6). These essential fatty
acids have two important properties: anti-inflammatory and stimulating
the growth of new skin cells.
Psoriasis, eczema and extreme
dry skin.
It is of great interest to use sufficient omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and
DHA) and omega-6 fatty acid GLA (gamma-lanolin acid). These fatty acids
have an anti-inflammatory effect and benefit the condition of the skin
tissue.
By applying emu oil on the skin the essential fatty acids can be
directly applied on the spot where needed. The great advantage of
Emucare products is that’s it a 100% natural product. Patients can use
it long-term without damaging side effects. At the moment thousands of
people in the Netherlands and Belgium have been treated for psoriasis,
eczema and dry skin.
