Body Odour

Did you know that our body is covered with sweat glands? This is because sweating is an essential function that helps in regulating our body temperature. When your body heats up, these glands releases sweat that helps to cool down your body.

Body odour is not caused by sweating itself, but by the bacterial decomposition of proteins and oils on the skin surface. Deodorant products on the market are in fact predominately anti-transpirants which blocks the sweat flow. Although it is convenient for many consumers to have dry armpits besides the deodorant effect, persons with sensitive skin may encounter tolerance problems due to the retention of sweat within the gland. Long term use of anti-transpirants impairs the normal physiological functions of sweat glands.

Recommendations:

  • A 5 cleanser provides natural deodorant protection as odor-causing bacteria are unable to proliferate in a mildy-acidic environment
  • Use a deodorant that does not block the sweat flow of your skin to allow natural perspiration
